I can see you both trying to get close to the Mona Lisa and then trying to get the attendant’s attention.

We were in Paris last year–such a lovely city but unfortunately we, too, ran into haughty Parisians.

Wonderful that Americans saved the day!

I can see all this happening. We were just in Paris last year in May and tried to get close to the Mona Lisa, too. We experienced some rather haughty Parisians like your attendant. So funny.

I wish I could have been there to watch that entire scene. As Key said, some of us didn’t get to stay in Paris for all those days. Sigh. Somebody needs to write about our “group” trip to the Orangerie to see the Monet waterlilies–and the series of events that day! Since Dottye wrote the long complaint to the Orangerie staff maybe she should write up the story.

I have just discovered this site and am speechless. How serendipitous that you all met one another and struck up this amazing friendship in the depths of such great loss.

Like you, I am a bereaved mother. My 21-year-old son Matthew died from a virulent form of strep in October 2010. Like many of you, I have been writing my way through my grief. I have a blog and a fairly new writing group made up of other bereaved mothers. It’s so comforting to hear how helpful and long standing your group has been. We are just not as far along on the journey as all of you. I will be passing along your link to everyone.
