On a recent writing retreat to Roaring Gap, NC,  the prompt “some days” was given to the group.   I decided to write an acrostic poem.

S-silence tiptoes gently across my busy mind

O-once overwhelmed with the surrounding sounds of life, I bow my head in rest

M-mesmerized by the sounds of silence, I am rocked gently to and fro

E-energy of a different kind holds me close like the casing spun of silk by a moth caterpillar

D-daylight evolves into starlit skies

A-awash with shooting stars and twinkling lights-like New York City in reverse

Y-yesterday, with its rustle and bustle of deadlines, decisions and worries

S-slips gently away as the tide pulls them back into the sea
