In the stillness of the early morning

before the break of day

I am thankful

 

Today is a brand new day

a fresh start

a place of hope

 

A day to make a difference

if not just in one’s own life

possibly in the life of another

 

Daily struggles and changes in routine

creep their way in to life’s cracks and crevices

our attitude toward them makes the difference

 

Life seems to be going in more than one direction

Family, work, and volunteer activities

need more than a 24 hour day

 

Humor is the best medicine in life

prescription free and no doctors orders to follow

a true spirit lifter

 

As the day comes to a close

like a present gift wrapped

and bow on top

 

The sun sets in the western sky in all its glory

the stillness returns once again

and I am thankful
