Eight of us read and signed books at Quail Ridge Books and Music in Raleigh on Thursday, August 30. Here are some highlights from that event:

Carol welcomes the crowd at Quail Ridge and reads from “How Many Children Do You Have?” in Farther Along.

Beverly reads excerpts about Thanksgiving and the Rockettes and about Hope’s feet.

Barbara reads her Make-a-Wish legacy story about her son William.

Julie read excerpts from Farther Along about coming to the first workshop in 2002 and “What I Carry,” based on a prompt from “The Things They Carried.”

Monica read “Ghost Crab.”

Kay read “Hearts and Hummer.”

Kathy read an excerpt from Farther Along written from the point of view of a surviving sibling.

Peggy read a selection from Farther Along on self care.

During the book signing at Quail Ridge, we signed books and shared stories with those who attended.
