I was over at the Cancer Center yesterday. While waiting in the lobby, I glanced through a scrapbook which was a collection of writings from some support group. I was amused that one of the first entries advised, “You just have to trust in the Lord on his thorne.”

As a tutor of dyslexic children, I certainly appreciated this transposition of letters, but then too, there’s much truth in the barbs that life throws our way. Sometimes, it seems that the Lord really is sitting on a thorn, and we wish like hell that He’d get off!
