September 2012 was an exciting time for our writing group. We planned for a couple of years ahead to celebrate our anniversary together at a chateau in the Loire Valley in France. It was such a dream come true in all respects.
A handful of us stayed in France for a few more days to experience the lively city of Paris. We toured by bus, metro and on foot all the while slipping our “Farther Along ” card here and there to spread the word of our newly published book, blog site and Facebook page.
The “Farther Along” cards were placed into the pockets of cab seats, pockets of the 767 plane we rode between the United States and France, in the prayer card pocket at Notre Dame Cathedral, guest book at the Hotel de la Paix, and many other sites around Paris.
We returned home from Paris feeling refreshed, renewed and thankful to have the support and love of one another. We have been strengthened by one another’s presence.

I wish I could ‘like’ this. Actually, I LOVE it! And Carol’s reply…and Kim’s suggestion!

The group should travel again, and spread those cards world-wide! Best wishes to all you wonderful women.

The trip to France feels like a dream now–the best dream anyone could ever have. I think of the broken, raw women sitting around the board room table on our first meeting in October 2002 and then I remember our sitting around the dining room table at the chateau, laughing and enjoying one amazing French meal after another and one glorious September 2012 day after another–walking in the gardens, around the topiary and along the old Roman road. And writing by the frog ponds and picnicking on the Loire River and taking a glorious boat ride to a sleepy French town. And coming back to our amazing 12th century chateau, our welcoming home–for an entire week.
