Writing Toward Healing:
2016 FREE Workshops for Adults Grieving the Loss of a Loved One
Carol Henderson, author of Farther Along: The Writing Journey of Thirteen Bereaved Mothers, will be offering a series of writing toward healing sessions at Carol Woods Retirement Community, 750 Weaver Dairy Rd, Chapel Hill, NC. this spring.
These workshops are open to anyone at Carol Woods and in the Chapel Hill community grieving a death-related loss.
You don’t need to consider yourself a writer to attend. Join us for an opportunity to explore our deepest feelings in a safe environment. Through writing, we will gently probe, reflect, remember, and reconsider. We will honor our loved ones, reimagine our lives now, and discover inner resources we had no idea were within us.
The workshops will meet on four Saturdays: March, 5, April 2, May 7, and June 4. Time: 9:30 a.m. – noon. (check in and continental breakfast starts at 9 a.m.) These workshops are free and open to the public. Come to one or to all. Carol Woods will provide continental breakfast and coffee. Journals provided by Project Compassion.
The workshops will culminate in a reading for the community (given by interested participants) later in June at Flyleaf Books in Chapel Hill.
